What is AEO, and why does it matter?
Answer engine optimization means making your pages the sources AI assistants cite when they answer a question. A growing share of questions are answered that way, so being cited is becoming the new page one. AEOptimiz measures it every month with an assistant that searches the web, so you can see whether it is moving.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT about my SEO?
A chatbot only sees what you paste into it. AEOptimiz reads your whole Search Console history and asks Google directly about each page. The order of what to fix is computed from that data the same way every time; the AI explains it, it does not decide it.
Where do the numbers come from?
Google Search Console for clicks, impressions and positions, Google's URL Inspection API for index status, Google Analytics 4 for revenue if you connect it, and DataForSEO for search volumes. Every finding names its source.
Does AEOptimiz store my data?
Yes, and that is the point: keeping your Search Console history lets it show trends after Google's own 16-month window has closed. Connection credentials are encrypted at rest.
Which platforms can it publish to?
WordPress and Shopify directly, and any other site through a signed webhook.
Is there a free version?
The coverage check and the free SEO tools need no account at all: an index checker, an on-page checker and a SERP snippet preview.
Do I need to be an SEO expert?
No. Every finding says what it means and what to do, in plain language. If you are an expert, the numbers behind each recommendation are one click away.
How long until I see something useful?
The coverage report runs in minutes on a public sitemap. Connect Search Console and the first sync reads your history the same day; the ranked findings follow that night, because checking every URL with Google is rate limited to a couple of thousand a day.
Do I have to let it write and publish for me?
No. Plenty of people use it only to find what is broken. Writing and publishing are separate steps, both of which you start, and a draft never reaches your site without your click.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Nothing breaks mid-task. You are told before an expensive action, the nightly work carries on because it costs nothing, and you can top up or wait for the monthly allocation.
Can I use it for clients?
Yes. Each site is separate, and the plans carry several sites and seats. A workspace's data never crosses into another one, which is enforced in the database layer rather than in the interface.
Which AI assistants does the monthly check ask?
Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, whichever have been configured on the deployment. Google's AI Overviews cannot be asked by any API yet, so it is not claimed.
What happens to my data if I leave?
Close the workspace and everything belonging to it is deleted within 30 days, apart from the invoices and ledger rows that accounting requires. The privacy policy says exactly what those are.
