llms.txt is a short Markdown file at your site's root that AI assistants read to understand it: a summary, then the pages that matter, grouped. Fill it in and save the result as /llms.txt. It runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

What llms.txt is, and what it is not
llms.txt was proposed in 2024 as a short, readable map of a site for language models: what the site is and which pages explain it best.
No major assistant has confirmed that it reads the file. It costs little to publish and does no harm, so treat it as a cheap bet rather than a ranking lever. It does not control access; robots.txt does that.
Questions
Does ChatGPT read llms.txt?
OpenAI has not said that it does. The same goes for the other major assistants at the time of writing.
Is anything I type sent anywhere?
No. It runs in your browser.
