Everything AEOptimiz says that a keyword tool cannot comes out of your own Search Console data, so this is the connection that matters.
What AEOptimiz asks for
Read-only access to your Search Console data, and nothing else. AEOptimiz never changes anything in Search Console, never asks for access to anything else in your Google account, and cannot post, delete or submit on your behalf. Google shows you the exact permission before you agree.
Which property to pick
An account often holds several properties for one site: a domain property, an https:// prefix,
sometimes an http:// one and a www variant of each. They are not the same thing.
- A domain property covers every subdomain and both http and https. This is the one to use.
- A URL prefix covers exactly what it says and nothing else.
AEOptimiz picks the domain property when your account has one, because choosing a prefix by accident means analysing a fraction of your traffic and concluding the tool is wrong about your site.
If it says it found no property
The Google account you signed in with has no Search Console property for that site. Usually this is the wrong account: the property belongs to a colleague, an agency, or a personal address rather than a work one. Either sign in with the account that owns the property, or have its owner add yours in Search Console under Settings, Users and permissions.
Disconnecting
Disconnect on the Sites screen. The permission is removed and AEOptimiz stops reading. The data it has already mirrored stays, so your history and your findings do not disappear; nothing new arrives until you connect again. You can also revoke AEOptimiz from your Google account directly, which has the same effect.
While this is in review
Google reviews any application that asks for Search Console access before it can be offered to everyone, and that review is not finished. Until it is, a property is connected for you during setup rather than by you, and this screen may not offer the button yet.
