Publishing to Shopify

Connecting a Shopify store and publishing documents as blog articles.

Connect

  1. In the Shopify Dev Dashboard, signed in with the account that owns the store, create an app with the write_content scope and install it on the store.
  2. In AEOptimiz, open Settings, then Sites, then CMS. Enter the store address and the app's client ID and secret.

A store that already has a custom app can paste its Admin API access token instead. Either is checked before it is saved, and stored encrypted.

If the store has more than one blog, choose the one articles go to.

Publish

Documents publish as blog articles, with the title tag and meta description set in Shopify's own SEO fields.

  • Save as a draft creates the article without publishing it.
  • Publish live publishes it.

Publishing the same document again updates the same article. If you change the address of an article that is already live, Shopify redirects the old address to the new one, so links to it keep working.
