Documents open beside the chat, and every document is listed under Documents.
Saving
Changes save by themselves a moment after you stop typing. The status beside the title says where things stand: Saved, Unsaved changes, or Not saved, retrying when the connection drops.
Versions
History keeps the versions worth going back to, without one for every autosave:
- everything the assistant writes
- the text as it was before someone else changes it, whether a colleague or the assistant
- your own text again once 10 minutes have passed since the last version, so a long session leaves a trail
Open History to see them and restore one. Restoring deletes nothing: what it replaced is kept as a version too.
When a document changed while you had it open
If the document changed after you opened it, for example because the assistant revised it, saving stops and the status says Changed elsewhere. Your edits stay on screen. Then choose:
- Load the newer version to see the other change, or
- Save mine over it to keep your edits. The version you replace stays in History.
Visual and Markdown editing
Documents open in a visual editor. A document containing something the visual editor would damage, such as raw HTML, opens as Markdown instead and says why, so opening a document never changes it.
